Digital X-ray
- Precise diagnostics for your dental health
State-of-the-art technology for accurate diagnoses:
In our practice, we use digital X-ray technology, which is a further development of conventional analog systems.
Clarity & security
Experience precise diagnostics with digital X-rays – fast, safe and environmentally friendly.
Advantages of digital X-rays
Depending on the diagnostic requirements, it is possible to create panoramic slice images and 3D images in addition to single tooth images. Panoramic slices show all teeth including the jawbone, maxillary sinuses and temporomandibular joints and are created in just one imaging process by moving the X-ray unit in a semicircle around your head. A panoramic image provides an overview of all important structures and, among other things, information about the position of wisdom teeth and any inflammatory processes in the jaw.
Digital X-ray offers numerous advantages
- Higher resolution: The images can be enlarged or post-processed, i.e. the contrast and sharpness can be optimized.
- Dose-reduced: Compared to analog methods, the radiation exposure is significantly lower.
- Immediate availability: The images are available immediately and do not have to be developed first.
- Networking: X-ray images can be called up in any treatment room without delay.
- Easy to share: Digital X-ray images can be quickly sent to colleagues by e-mail if required.
- Environmentally friendly: no developer chemicals are required.
3D X-ray - precision in depth
As a special feature, our practice has an X-ray machine with which we can also take high-resolution three-dimensional images of teeth and jaws. The main advantage of 3D X-ray images is that they enable a much more meaningful diagnosis than conventional X-ray images.
Advantages of digital 3D X-rays:
- Depth representation: exact representation of the anatomical conditions, e.g. width of the jawbone or course of an important nerve pathway.
- More precise planning: Treatments such as implantations can be carried out more safely and gently.
- Reduced radiation: Compared to computed tomography (CT), 3D X-rays have significantly less radiation and at the same time offer a higher level of detail.
